BCBG Fabric R& D Operations in LA

The Fabric R&D Operations team is responsible for execution and maintaining all fabric test and sample dup orders for each divisions assigned to insure prompt delivery and efficient management of the fabric research operation daily.

Job Responsibilities:
1)Issue sample purchase orders
2)FDR Reports
3)Fabric Specs
4)Assist with Fabric Counter sourcing in necessary***
-All ordering of test fabric and sample/dup fabric
-Responsible to issue all sample purchase orders and follow-up
-Create and maintain weekly FDR reports and meetings
-Update and maintain PDM information
-Make sure all "specs" and "hand standards" are complete and passed with the given deadlines.-Insure all DP codes are assigned-Send out color standards om compliance with BCBG lab dip form with DP code
-Organize "unconfirmed spec" recap closely with production on a weekly basis
-Maintain sample fabric receiving books and distribute dup cards to design
-General office duties and all necessary follow-up

-Coordinate any local sample fabric dyeing and follow up

Production
• Prepares wall and bible pictures each session.

Design Contribution
• Organizes and maintains fabric library/sample files.
• Assists in presentation boards as needed. Ensures that materials are on hand for boards at all times.
• Participates in design conversations about styling, fabric, colors, etc. to enhance learning and offer opinions.
• Sends out color standards to Hong Kong and others as needed.

Customer Knowledge/Learning
• Spends time researching buying trends of Tommy Bahama customers to become better familiar with the product users, and to enhance design capabilities.

EXPERIENCE, TALENT AND EDUCATION

• 2-4 year degree in apparel design, fashion design, graphic design or equivalent experience (1-2 years work experience in the apparel industry) is highly desirable.
• Computer graphics experience with knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator helpful, or the ability to learn.
• Familiarity with the apparel design or garment production process from concept to product.

Knowledge and Attributes
