Job Title:
Art Production Manager
The Art Production Manager is responsible for an in-house team and their schedules along with contract printers to meet deadlines and established priorities. This person analyzes production schedules and print orders to determine type and quantity of work to be done, availability of machinery and personnel. Confers with Art Directors and Sales Teams to ensure coordination of packages and programs for presentations. Fifth Sun is not a production house but we develop quality samples of cutting edge and progressive printed apparel for retailers.
Qualifications:
•Screen print experience 5 years minimum
•Experience with separations and pre production 2 years minimum
•Management experience in a screen-print environment 3 yrs minimum
•Strong scheduling skills and follow through
•Production background a plus
•Art or product developments background a plus.
•Good at mentoring and building team environments
•High sense of ownership.

Description of Duties
•Work closely within in a team of Film Engineers, Separators, Apparel Coordinator, Print-Color Specialist, Screen Print Specialist, and Screen-Prep Assistant to create a strong team mentality.
•Communicates with outside printers on scheduling and print related questions.
•Stay current on new trends in fashion, fabrics, print techniques and treatments.
•Work with suppliers on above and search for new ones.
•Be aware of our market price restrictions and work within these constraints.
•Produce and maintain a product development calendar for all necessary products and programs.
•Responsible for timely supply of production samples and necessary strikeoffs and materials.
•Communicate and travel to suppliers as necessary.
•Learn and understand all fabrication techniques, sewing, appliqués…etc
•Provide printers with accurate and timely information for production along with necessary follow-up.
•Oversee scheduling of internal print testing.
•Confirm raw materials (blanks / inks) available for scheduled sampling.
•Work with Art Directors to schedule and produce samples for timely Sales packages.
•Research new techniques and provide department with info.
•Provide Production and Sales with accurate information on all jobs.
•Ensure accuracy of films sent to printers.
•Coordinates film output for new, revised and existing jobs.
•Coordinates and provide accurate pre-production samples to Licensing Department.
•Contribute suggestions and ideas for department needs and smooth flow.
•Oversee safety and hazmat reporting for in-house print department.
•Develop an understanding of industry knowledge for all our cut & sew programs.
Software Proficiencies:
• Photoshop, Illustrator, Filemaker, Microsoft office, Mac OS, Excel
