If you're like a lot of people who have a home business, and you're spending time on Twitter, you've probably asked yourself "Is Twitter a Waste of Time".
This is especially true if you're not getting a lot of results with it.
But the fact is that most people with home businesses, especially those with network marketing businesses use Twitter wrong.
How to Use Twitter So It's NOT a Waste of Your Time
Twitter is one of the most popular social networks that there are online behind only Facebook.
Therefore avoiding Twitter or writing it off may seem like a bad idea. But then again, it's only a bad idea if you're going to use Twitter incorrectly.
How do you use Twitter correctly for you home business? Well first of all, you have to understand that Twitter is likely not going to gain you any new customers, downline members, or any sort of closing transaction from your Tweets alone.
So if you're Tweeting "come check out this great opportunity" and leaving a link to your opportunity site, you're not going to get very far. I'm not saying that nobody will ever join, but it's not going to be often enough to even cover your hosting costs for your website.
On the other hand, Twitter is tremendous for branding, for building relationships with your readers, for keeping up with downline members, and for establishing yourself as both an expert, but even more importantly...as a PERSON!
You see from the above paragraph...Twitter does have a lot of benefits for your business. It's basically a great way to easily keep your name and brand in front of people. People have short memories online and need to be reminded often of who you are and why it's important for them to know.
But you also have to remember that people don't EVER go on sites like Facebook and Twitter to be sold. They go there to socialize, and sending out a link to your opportunity, or for someone to buy your ebook with every single Tweet is not social...it's just simply annoying. Don't be annoying on Twitter.
Be a likable person on Twitter. Be a helpful person on Twitter. When you send people links, make it links to stuff that they'll enjoy and be able to use, and that doesn't always have to involve YOU. People will be interested in the same interesting articles that you find anywhere. Whether it's on some other marketers blog, a Drudge Report article, CNN, Fox News, etc. And then when you add your own links they won't tend to mind as much.
