Seeking jewelry designer assistant for a San Francisco, California fashion jewelry company.

Minimum 2 years experience in costume jewelry design and/or product development. Must be a self-starter, confident, ORGANIZED and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Old Navy Assistant Designer

Job Description
  • Prepares basic flat sketch designs.
  • Assists with basic specification of product.
  • Assists with color b.o.m.'s.
  • Attends fitting sessions with manager; make revisions to sketch and design package as needed.
  • May assist in researching the local market.
  • Responsible for administration and follow up of product design process to include preparation of technical packages and presentation boards, understanding of PDM process, email correspondence, etc.
  • Responsible for trimming supplies and/or working with Trim Department to keep abreast of current ideas.
Qualifications
  • Basic computer knowledge; ability to learn how to design through new/advanced technology (e.g., on-line spec program).
  • Basic product and fabric knowledge.
  • Basic understanding of garment construction.
  • Basic design and color sense.
  • Ability to perform basic flat sketches.
  • Basic organizational and communication skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • College degree in Fashion Design or related field preferred.

Assistant Designer (Mission Area)

Looking for designer with 0-2 years experience. We are interested in hiring a hard working assistant designer with either graphic design. product design or fashion design experience. We are a group of experienced designers working on fun projects. Our design firm is super busy and need some part-time design help. You would be perfect if you are a recent graduate willing to learn an interesting specialized skill set that will take you further in your career. We work on a variety of projects from hang tags to hard goods to clothing. We pay competitively.

We are interested in 20-30 hours a week for the next month. Depending how it works out, more full time.

Must be good with Adobe Illustrator and free hand sketching.
Have your own computer.

We are an established missy-contemporary sportswear and dress Co. in Downtown LA. We import from India and China and we are located in Downtown Los Angeles. We are seeking a person with a 2 or 4-year fashion degree and at least one to two years of experience in the fashion industry. Responsibilities include working closely with designer in all aspects of the design area including communicating with sales and overseas factories. This is a great learning opportunity! Some of the duties are:customer presentations (CADs and photos), sketching, ordering yardages, organizing print hangers, maintaining copy right records, costing, learning to write specs, tech packs, requesting samples, organizing them and sending to sales reps, assisting at cataloque shoots, color cards, approving samples and TOPs, creating embroidery and beading layouts,and time and talent allowing design projects. The candidate needs to have strong computer skills ( Excel, Photoshop, Illustrator),high energy level, flexibility, strong communication skills and he/she needs to be very detail oriented multi-tasker. He/she should also have strong interest in shopping/following fashion outside of office hours.

II.
