Hawaii Vacations With Your Kids

I get calls asking, "Should we take the kids", on a Hawaii vacation? I always answer a hearty "you bet". Because the landscape provides the perfect backdrop for all sorts of outdoor activities, the kids will never be bored. In addition, when booking your vacation, you can set yourself up in a resort playground like the Hilton Waikoloa, or book a simple condo on the beach where you can save a little money cooking your meals in. The range of accommodations available when booking a Hawaii vacation package is perfect for families large and small. In short, Hawaii is one of the best places for a fun and relaxing vacation.

The whole family will love boogie boarding or body surfing on one of the great beaches in Hawaii, like world famous Waikiki Beach. Waikiki has a range of food options to satisfy even the most finicky eaters in your family. Hawaiian food, buffets, cheap breakfast spots, burgers, and pizza are all in available in this exciting destination. Don't forget the Honolulu zoo. It is a small city zoo, but it's worth taking a tour. The flamingo pond in the front is sure to please the kids and will offer a great photo taking opportunity. The Waikiki Aquarium is another fun family stop within walking distance of most of the Hotels. It has a touch pond for the viewing pleasure of the kids and adults alike. Lastly, if you and the kids would like a fun history lesson about the Hawaiian people, the Bishop Museum is worth taking a tour. They have demonstrations on the art of making lei's as well as hula dancing performances on a consistent basis.

If you are going on a Maui vacation, a sure bet for the kids is the Maui Ocean Center, home to the largest tropical fish aquarium in the United States. The dolphin statues out front make a great background for a souvenir photo. Don't forget to check out the whaling museum located in Lahaina. If you are visiting during the winter months go ahead and take a whale watching tour from either Ma'alaea harbor, or Lahaina harbor. If the whales aren't there, don't forget to check out the whaling museum located in Lahaina. The beaches at the resort are of Ka'anapali are fun for kids as well. Most of these resorts have awesome pools for little swimmers. Some even have water parks within the hotel themselves. Another perk for booking your accommodations in Kaanapali, parents can take advantage of the kids programs at these resorts for some quiet time to themselves also to add to your vacation experience.

Are you going to The Big Island of Hawaii? A must see for the kids, and you, is to take a day trip and drive through Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. You can see active volcanoes and walk through the Thurston Lava Tube to see the awesome power of Pele. Head on north and stop and see one of the best waterfalls in all of Hawaii just a short walk on a paved path off the highway. Next take a ride over to Waimea and take the kids for a horseback ride through the valley. Lastly you could go to North Kohala and try kayaking. This is a just a primer for your Big Island of Hawaii vacation. The Big Island has lots of other fun activities for the whole family, remember to relax a little too, the kids will love a day at the beach.

The 3 other main Islands of Kauai, Lanai, and Molokai have just as much variety in accommodations and activities for Seattle to Hawaii family vacation. Like I said earlier in my post, Hawaii is a great place to take the kids on your vacation.
