Upgrading Your Business to QuickBooks Enterprise

QuickBooks is the award-winning accounting software manufactured by Intuit. The program comes in a desk top format for PC and Mac, and can also be accessed online through a monthly subscription service.
Since its inception a lot has changed for QuickBooks users. Though originally just for small businesses, Intuit now offers versions of QuickBooks that are tailored for individuals, manufacturing, contractors, non-profits and most of all, growing businesses. All of these specific versions fit into the QuickBooks Premier Editions category, which offer a powerful accounting tool at an affordable price.
The upper echelons of QuickBooks versions do not end with QuickBooks Premier though. The most powerful of all QuickBooks versions is in fact QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions. This is a version of QuickBooks designed specifically for large, growing companies, with capacities far exceeding those offered by QuickBooks Premier Editions.
For many businesses it may be hard to decipher when they have entered the realms of requiring QuickBooks Enterprise. My advice to you is: figure it out! It will not be too hard to determine when your business has outgrown QuickBooks Premier and if and when your business has upgraded to Enterprise, the savings generated can be huge.
Here is a quick checklist. You may need Quickbooks Enterprise Solutions if:
• You require more than 3 simultaneous users.
• You have inventory to keep track of in multiple locations.
• Your business operates in two or more locations, or has remote workers.
• You have specialized roles and departments, such as sales, purchasing or payroll.
• You process a large number of transactions.
• You want tighter control over user access to safeguard your sensitive data.
• Your reports run slowly.
• You need more custom fields to track data unique to your business.
• You need to track more than 14,500 products, customers or vendors (press the F2 key on your keyboard to check your current List quantities. Look for "Total Names" and "Total Items" within the "List Information" section on the right side of the screen to find this list.)
After taking a fair evaluation of your business you will know quickly if your company's growth requires a tool as powerful as QuickBooks Enterprise to manage it. Depending on the number of users you need (1-5, 10, 11-30 users) you will pay a different rate. Still, QuickBooks Enterprise for 5 users can still be cheaper than running QuickBooks Premier for 3 users. Also, as an extra incentive, you can find QuickBooks Enterprise Discounts which will save you big time on your purchase.
If your company is growing you can save time, money and hassle by changing to QuickBooks Enterprise. Figuring out when to upgrade is an important decision, but it may not be as hard as you think.
