Self-proclaimed "Progressive Catholics" take what they see in our culture and attempt to morph the Catholic Faith into it... rather than the other way around. Why? Are they lazy, intellectually dishonest? It just doesn't make sense. They claim that "Traditionalists" are being rigid and intolerant in their views. They limit their understanding of the Faith so as to exclude "Progressives." They say this as if these "Traditionalists" have it all together, or don't suffer the same types of crosses and difficulties they do. But remember, none of us have it, together.
God didn't send his only Son to die for us, build his Church upon that belief and then let it cure for 2000 years, only to have us "Update" it once society and culture changed. Sure along the ways, things have been refined, little things have progressed and advanced, but the type of change that some are preposing nowadays makes it seem as if Jesus, and the Father, had no idea what they were doing. They were just misogynists who were intolerant because of their place in time. But is that really how it works? We need to "update" the faith because the current version is outdated? Are we that blind?

What about the Mass? We saw the liberties taken from Vatican II. If you asked a priest or a parish administrator whether the Masses many of us see each week are a true reflection of what the council had in mind, they would say yes. But then if you go and read the documents how can we honestly say that? I argue you can't. So are we that blind... or is it something else.Remember the scene in the Wizard of Oz, where Dorthy and her band of reluctant heroes finds the all-mighty and powerful Oz? At first they see this big floating green head, but then Toto goes over and pulls back the curtain. Remember how for a few moments after that the Wizard keeps up the charade? That's where we are with this modernist faith. We see the lies being put forth, we know that what we see isn't the truth, but for a few seconds longer we are going along with the lies. Why? It is right in front of us, and yet it is as if we are frozen unable to do anything about what is in front of us.
We keep "working" with these ideas of the faith. We take these new "updates" of the faith and attempt to correspond them to the truth so as to appease everyone. We sit through horrible Liturgies so as to be loving and understanding of other peoples "faith beliefs." Yet, are we so blind as to think that the Catholic Faith is this pliable and malleable thing? Did God found his Church upon Jell-O or Legos?

I argue we aren't as blind as we seem to be... and that it is in fact something much worse. We must wipe away the delusion from our eyes and hearts. We must become stalwarts of the faith again. We must become Catholic Warriors. We must actively engage in the spiritual warfare that exists within the ranks of our own, we must waft away the "Smoke of Satan" that has permeated into the Sanctuaries, Churches, and Parishes that we are members of. The enemy is within, we must not be so blind as to be tricked by the charade that he is playing in full view of our eyes. We are not dealing with people and ideas, we are dealing with principalities and powers. It is time to wake up, wipe away the dust, and open our eyes. We must accept the reality of our situation, of our Faith, and of the attempted destruction of the Catholic faith. We know that we ultimately win, but that doesn't mean we get to sit back and do a victory dance. That doesn't mean we let the other team score a few goals because it doesn't matter. We need to open our eyes and find the truth.
