How To Build Backlinks To Your Website

What are backlinks? Backlinks are links that point toward your website. For example, if you setup a YouTube account and place a link that point towards your website, that is considered a backlink.

Backlinks have become so important to the scope of Search Engine Optimization, that they have become some of the main building blocks to good SEO. The more backlinks you have, the more important your website becomes to search engines. This creates higher search engine results. Google has a ranking system, and the higher ranked a website is that your backlink is coming from means a lot. Click here to check the page rank of a website.

The “whitehat” way to build backlinks is doing it one at a time. Using social bookmark sites, blogs, video websites, social networking sites, etc… There are hundreds of ways to build backlinks.

The “blackhat” way to build backlinks is using a service that does it automatically. You would create a webpage on your website that has code on it that slowly creates backlinks for you from other websites. The bad part of using an automated service is you can get kicked off Google. This is by far the easiest way to build backlinks, but it can backfire if you do it wrong.

I worked with a celebrity gossip website that doubled their visitors in 30 days, from about 20,000 to 40,000 visitors just by using social bookmark websites. They submitted their blogs using a service called SocialMarker.com. This service is free and saves a lot of time. It builds backlinks for each blog created to hundreds of bookmarks.

Also, by submitting blogs to these bookmarks, additional traffic was generated from the sites themselves.

Other ways to build backlinks is by utilizing video and TubeMogul.com. You are able to create videos and upload once to TubeMogul and the service will upload to all the video websites. So upload once to many sites, which obviously saves a lot of time. This will also generate traffic from the video sites.
