Can you do the job?

In a trainee role, you will only need to show you are capable of basic skills, which they will mould you into becoming more successful and capable as time goes by. However high, senior and specialist positions need to be demonstrated right next to being the perfect fit in the career.

You really need to be passionate about the career you want to take on. Employers will want to see a self motivated employee, someone who will push the boundaries to new limits.
Also the job also needs to make sense for you in the context of your career. If an employer sees you may be over qualified in a role, they may believe in 6 months down the track, you may become bored and no longer motivated in the job and look to moving on causing disclosure and disharmony
Will you fit in?
Employees want to see if you will fit in the culture of the workplace or possible can fit in a variety of different scenes such as one would undertake in a change management role. This is vital to secure you position and career in the company.

Most organisations are restricted to budget and so this question is about this. Sometimes you may be the perfect candidate, however, you may be out of the price range and so will choose someone less suited but with the price range.
