In this short article we discuss Algebra tutoring and why having and a tutor is important for school age kids. Thinking back to when I was at school I had an algebra tutor, and I know that without her I would not of passed Maths. The main reason for this was not because I couldn't do the math, but because I lacked the motivation and self-confidence to get better. I though I was smart but in reality I was struggling to keep up.
The first step to realising the need for an algebra tutor is becoming aware of the difference between your potential and reality (because you can have all the potential in the world but the reality is you are still getting a D in math). Once you have decided that reaching your potential is important one must then find the necessary help to get there.
Asking for help is not failure, it is an important stepping stone for success. In my classes that I teach, I encourage students to first ask themselves and then ask other students. Help from others is one to the easiest ways for us to learn. An algebra tutor will help in a number of ways. They offer opportunities to develop confidence, motivation and self belief to break down the mental barriers when faced with a difficult task.
Difficult math like algebra requires greater concentration from the student. Furthermore, concepts in algebra often relate to the understanding of the previous one, so if you don't keep up form the beginning the understanding gap can become exponential. Once behind the student will have already begun building that mental wall that shouts out that they can't do the math.
In finishing, it is important to get an algebra tutor for math in my opinion for the following key reasons.
Chris is school teacher who was looking for another way to help students achieve their desires at school. He found that most students were struggling at times to complete study and homework at home without help. Therefore his online maths tutoring was born in order to provide an environment where students and parents can experience success through learning. The first step to realising the need for an algebra tutor is becoming aware of the difference between your potential and reality (because you can have all the potential in the world but the reality is you are still getting a D in math). - To ensure that your potential becomes reality, and
- To build self-confidence for the student. (Confidence is not something that is singular it encompasses the whole identity)
