Pope: Pray for families in February

The Pope has announced his prayer intention for February: The Family

VATICAN CITY, FEB. 1, 2011 (Zenit.org).- Benedict XVI is dedicating the month of February to pray for the family.

The Apostleship of Prayer announced the intentions chosen by the Pope for February.

His general intention is: "That all may respect the family and recognize it for its unmatched contribution to the advancement of society."

I can't think of a better intention. The family is under unprecedented attacks by our culture. It is the core of society, and yet it is treated sometimes as if it is a virus, sent to destroy us as individual people. We consistently make decisions that tear down the family and hurt it.
