Campus Recreation is a department within the division of Student Affairs that provides fitness, wellness, and recreation programs to the campus community through the operation and administration of the following: The UC Davis Activities and Recreation Center, Pavilion, Fitness and Wellness Programs, Intramural Sports and Sports Clubs, Equestrian Center, Craft Center, Outdoor Adventures, Youth Programs, Aquatics Program and the Cal Aggie Marching Band.
Davis
Provide instruction to Craft Center patrons for beginning, intermediate, and advanced classes in textiles. Classes include but are not limited to: crochet, knitting, quilting, misanga, sewing, spinning, weaving, and silk painting. Instruct students in the use and care of textile tools and equipment. Distribute, collect, and submit course evaluations. Clean up studio/lab after every class.

Recreation Program Instructors at the Craft Center provide evening and weekend instruction in specific craft techniques. Classes can vary from one 8 hour workshop to seven classes of 2 hours at time once a week.
Exposure to dyeing chemicals.
Work evenings and weekends.
Theoretical understanding and demonstrated skill in textiles to teach multiple levels of one or more classes in crochet, dyeing, knitting, quilting, misanga, sewing, spinning, weaving, and silk painting.

Knowledge of use and care of tools and materials associated with textiles as well as the procedures required to ensure strict standards of health and safety.

Communication skills to facilitate class discussion among a culturally diverse clientele and to use a variety of teaching aids.

Writing skills to provide course descriptions and reports associated with class(es) being taught.
