So there has been a lot of Hoopla about Google Wave. As a Mac person... I really like things that "just work. Google seems to provide that for the most part; things that just work, with minimal architecture.
They obiviously have their drawbacks, that whole "we keep everything you ever do but we aren't big brother thing for instance" but again for the most part I think they put out good products. Their newest release seems to be a bit... well interesting.
Google Wave is billed as the newest social networking platform... a sort of jack of all trades. I just got an invite, and each person only gets 8 invites to start with. [Think gmail when it first launched.] I am going to play around with it a bit and see what I can do with it. I have heard some complaints, mostly that it is more "aspirational" as opposed to functional. It also is limited because it only works well when lots of people you know use it. So much like friend connect and google profiles, it may not integrate well into peoples lives. But that isn't a drawback, I mean look at how big ICQ finally got. So let me play around with it a bit and I'll do a review in a bit.
I do have 8 invites and would be willing to give them out, but I am hoping to get some people that will be willing to really interact and respond to see how this thing can really work. So let me know if that sounds like something you'd like to try... and let's see how this thing works.
