This blog was started in part because of them - that statement is true in more ways than one.
My father has been struggling with several health issues for a while now, and has been in the hospital for months. My mom has been with him and has been faced with the decision of his care moving forward. As this decision looms my dads health has declined today, to the point where decisions are beginning to become part of the equation.
I need your prayers that God do all the miraculous things he does: the absolution of sins, the comforting of hearts, the giving of the Holy Spirit to guide us, and the growing of love. My father is my hero here on earth... and I am so far away and it is hard to go through this at such a distance. It is also hard because my mom has so few people near her to help her, to guide her, and to comfort her.
So please say a quick prayer for both my father and my mother. If you know not what to say, a simple Our Father or Hail Mary would be most kind. I do ask this out of the humblest and most gracious of hearts. I have been asking Bl. Solanus Casey for his intercession if that helps at all. Of course... St. Joseph is a good Saint to ask for intercession as well.
