Become As Little Children

"And Jesus calling unto him a little child, set him in the midst of them, And said: Amen I say to you, unless you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, he is the greater in the kingdom of heaven.  And he that shall receive one such little child in my name, receiveth me." Matthew 18:2-5 (Douay)

That is an appropriate verse to go along with this story:

The greatest part of this story is what the child says and clearly believes:

The 5-year-old said an angel figurine ornament was his favorite because it reminded him of where he’ll soon be.“In heaven, and I’m going to be an angel,” Biorkman said.

If only all of us could face death, adversity, or even life with such a gracious and humble attitude. Truly, we must become like children.
