Priests shouldn't swear... in Mass.

This isn't a post I want to write. I have written it over and over, deleting it each time I get anything substantial down.

I guess I could really just leave it at the title:

Priests shouldn't swear in Mass... ever. 

You aren't a rapper, you aren't on "Jersey Shore", you aren't a teenager trying to look cool, you aren't a drunken sailor (are you?), you aren't the Head Coach of Notre Dame's football team, you aren't any of these things... so don't swear. 

You sound vulgar and disrespectful, but don't worry we forgive you (even if you do it 77x), but it is unbecoming and you will lose respect. Trust me, I asked; even the teens, well... especially the teens. 

If the Pope at some point swears during a Mass, or gives a reason as to why it would be appropriate, this rule would then be open to change. Until then.... well, don't swear.
